Before you get very far toward a firm major and degree, it's usually a good idea to get all the experience you can about your chosen career path. Even jobs with similar titles can vary greatly from employer to employer, and so the job opportunities you find after graduation may be a lot different from what you expect. Likewise, if you get to graduation without work experience related to your major, your resume may be more difficult to market to employers alongside other applicants with experience.
The resources below are intended to help you find experiential learning opportunities. Internships, externships, job shadowing, and major-related employment are all invaluable to confirming your career choices and to building your resume. We hope you will use these resources where appropriate to help find these opportunities for real work experience. As always, we encourage you to come in during walk-ins, to make an appointment, or to Ask a Career Counselor using the link in the navigation column to your left.
