Perhaps one of the most important tools of a successful job search is your resume. It is a way to advertise your significant qualifications and experiences. Careful planning and preparation are necessary prerequisites for a clear and concise resume. Consider the following ways in which a resume can be utilized:

- Answer employment advertisements by mailing resume with an appropriate cover letter
- Mail to potential employers with a letter of inquiry about current and future job vacancies; respond to job leads or existing vacancies by sending resume with cover letter
